He is such a cutie, Burch. Sorry for your wife's illness. I personally think they are way off base on this covid stuff. My sister and BIL were sick for almost 3 weeks and kept testing negative. I come up here for a week and boom. . . I've got it.

I went to the doctor Monday and tomorrow I can mingle with people. Hmmmm.

Be well, my friend.

Our 4 July plans are I'm performing with our community band on the county seat's central plaza, then family is converging on us for hot dogs, burgers and brats. The RV isn't going places until the jacks issue is resolved, and then we'll probably put him up for sale. With all the family medical issues, I spent all my time driving them to one medical appointment after another; small chance of me driving the RV anywhere anymore.

May y'all have a safe and happy Independence Day.

So sorry to hear about everyones problems with being sick. We have gotten all our shots plus boosters. Last week we went up to the Salt Lake City area for a surprise Birthday Party for one of our Grand Daughters, she turned 21. Our Anniversary is 10 July and we are heading down the road to Mesquite Nevada to donate some money. Got free rooms for two nights. Thinking of heading up to Salt Lake area from Saint George Utah to look over some houses up for sale. We'll take our MH. Wishing you all who have gotten sick or not feeling well to get better.

Independence Day performance went well, then we retired to our air conditioning and good eats. Czarny, our cat, stuck his nose outside once, decided it was just nasty out there, and spent the rest of the day asleep or demanding one of the many humans scratch the base of his tail.

Then we were on fire watch until the wee hours, since so many tourists and assorted idjits thought it was a good idea to shoot fireworks in a drought-stricken area. Two houses completely burned on Saturday, a third severely damaged, and 3 dogs killed, made all of us around here pretty paranoid. Water pressure went down a bit, as we kept our hoses primed and ready to hose down any fiery residue. They finally shot their last wads around 0230, and I made it to bed about 0300 or so.

I really do not like fireworks anymore...

Sounds like a not-so-good time, Wanderlost. Fortunately, I am camped in my sister's woods in northern Indiana and we could barely hear any noise at all. My dog is not afraid, but my sister has three and at least one of them doesn't like the fireworks booms.

I will be leaving here a week from today and headed back to Florida by way of my daughter in Virginia. Then a quick stop at her in-laws who have become great friends, then the dog and I will head to Florida. Prolly go quickly as I have been gone for 2 months.

I had graduations in May and now this weekend, we will lay my husband to rest. It took over a year to secure a columbarium for his ashes due to covid, employee shortages and shipping problems. And I had to choose the funeral director from hell who has caused me untold grief. But the kids are coming in and we are going to get this done so my husband can finally rest in peace. He prolly has enjoyed traveling all over with me and my dog, but it's time to say goodbye. It will be bittersweet for sure. Life is not the same.

I am hoping everyone had a great 4th of July. I know a lot of pets don't like the fireworks but, luckily, mine don't seem to mind them and I still enjoy a good fireworks show. LazyDays resort always does a nice fireworks show in front of the resort and our site is usually in the back so it's not bad. We drove the golf cart up front to watch as the doggies stayed in the motorhome.

I took the motor home to a local shop to get some regular maintenance done last week. Since it was already there, I had them change the engine oil and the generator oil. I usually do it myself but I just purchased the oil and filter and had them do it. I won't make that mistake again with a $179 an hour shop rate! At least it is done for the next year.

We don't have another trip planned until mid August. I am taking a Friday off work and will be traveling to Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral at Port Canaveral. I really like going over there and love the Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area. It's really hard to get a site there now and I was lucky as I think someone must have canceled and I got a nice site.

Morning FOOFs

I get to take my doggies to the vet the next two days for their yearly checkup and vaccinations. It will cost a lot of $$$ but they are worth it. My old vet (before he retired) would let me bring all 4 of my dogs (before we lost Murphy) to the office on a Saturday morning to take care of them all at the same time. My current vet, who took over the old vets practice, won't let us bring all 3 of them in at the same time. Reasoning is, if I were to cancel the appointment, that would leave a large chunk of time that is now open and cost him money. I understand the reasoning but it's a little inconvenient now to have to take two different trips and have to miss time at work on Friday but he is a good vet so we do it. Hopefully all 3 will get a good bill of health. They are all getting old (Papillons 12 years old and Chihuahua is 11).

On the way to work this morning, I noticed gas at one station was down to $3.97 a gallon. I never thought I would be happy to see gas at this price! I need to top off the motorhome before our next trip to Cape Canaveral but I think I am going to wait a little longer to see if it goes down some more. Last time I waited on getting fuel, gas went up 20 cents a gallon so hopefully that won't happen again.

I hope everyone's fur babies are doing well. Keep cool everyone!

Leaving Ohio this morning and driving to Virginia. Paid $3.99 ONE time, but over $4 the next.

Grrrr.
