Good Morning FOOFs
I am finally starting to feel like a human again. I have been fighting a sinus infection for a little over 3 weeks now. After a week of suffering, I went to my Dr. and he gave me some steroids for the sinus pain and 14 days of antibiotics. The steroids took care of the sinus pain in a couple of days but I still had a very sore throat and was blowing yellow out my nose. Another week went by and I felt no better. On top of feeling lousy, the antibiotic he gave me tore up my stomach. I couldn't stay out of the bathroom.
I called the Dr back and told the nurse that I couldn't take the antibiotics anymore because of my stomach and asked if the Dr could give me a different one. I mentioned that a Zpack had helped me in the past when I was sick. She called back and said the Dr advised going to an ENT and wouldn't give me another antibiotic! I was really ticked off that he wouldn't call me in a different antibiotic. So, I started taking the old antibiotic again and worked from home last week because I couldn't stay out of the bathroom.
Another week went by and now my body is just really fatigued on top of a very sore throat. The antibiotic wasn't working. My wife told me that some people at her work had used TeleDoc online. I got online with Teledoc and setup an appointment for them to call me. They called in less than 5 minutes! I explained my symptoms and mentioned the Zpack had helped me in the past when I got a sinus infection. They called me in a prescription for a Zpack and about an hour later the local pharmacy had it for me. I have been on the Zpack for 2 days and am feeling much better. It might be time to get another Dr. The Teledoc option would be great for people who are traveling and can't see their normal Dr if they get sick. I was really impressed with them.
On top of me being sick, both my male dogs (Monty and Pinto) have really bad diarrhea. They have been sick since Saturday. I have confined them to one room (thank god for tile floors) but all I do is clean up poop. I spoke to the vet and told him I didn't want to bring them in because they would trash my truck with poop! He gave us some meds that we started them on yesterday afternoon so I am hoping this gets them well.
It's really been a fun couple of weeks around my house!

Yikes!
That sounds awful, thanks for the tip on the Tele Doctor. I never would have thought of that.
Hope you and the doggies have a full recovery soon.
When ever we used to have dogs with loose stool we would give them cottage cheese insted of there regular food for a couple days. That always seemed to help.
For the last ten years since we have been using Honest Kitchen dog food our dogs have had zero intestional issues.
Good luck.

Glad to hear you are finally on the mend, Burch. My granddaughter and her Mom have been fighting sinus infections as well. And it is lasting more than 2 weeks. Hope you and the doggies get back to normal soon.
I'll be leaving tomorrow. First trip is to Virginia, camping out with my kids in the mountains.
Take care and safe travels to all.

I am on day 4 of the new antibiotic and I am feeling much better. Not totally over it but I'm about 90% now. Sore throat is almost gone.
My doggies are doing much better as well. They have been on meds for two days and so far no more diarrhea. That is a really good thing as my house was really starting to smell. That God for tile floors!
We have a week long trip planned in the motorhome. It will be my first week off in 9 months so I am looking forward to it. We are staying fairly local (which is a good thing because of fuel prices). We are starting off the trip by going to Tarpon Springs for 3 nights and then heading to Fort Wilderness at Disney for 4 nights. My niece and her 1 1/2 year old will be driving up and joining us one day (only 2 hour drive) so we can take them to the Magic Kingdom. I am not a Disney person but it will be fun watching the baby take in the sites. Fort Wilderness is a fantastic RV park, but very expensive. Between the $$ spent on Fort Wilderness and the tickets to get into Disney, any fuel savings from staying local is out the window. But, you only live once.
I hope everyone has a great day.

It's been quiet on here. The doggies and I am back to normal now. What a difference a week makes. Now that we are on the mend, we are getting ready for our trip. I have my first week off in 8 months coming up and we are taking the motorhome to Tarpon Springs for a few days and then Fort Wilderness at Disney for a few days. Monty is not going to be happy as he gets stressed riding in the motorhome. At least we are staying local and the driving days will be fairly short. I think the round trip is only about 275 miles and that will be over several driving days.
Our niece and her 1 1/2 year old will be joining us the last day at Fort Wilderness. I don't really care about the theme parks but it will be fun to watch him at the Magic Kingdom. Oh, to be young again.....
I hope everyone has a great day.

Well, we made it to our first stop. We really like when we can get spots right on the water.

Left Tarpon Springs yesterday morning and drove to Fort Wilderness at Disney. I really like this campground. A lot of wild life. Here is a friend I made last night.
Here is our spot.
Not sure what we are doing today. We will be here until Friday morning.

Well, the vacation is over. Back to work today. We had a good time but the vacations always seem to get over so quickly. Monty did better riding in the Motorhome this time. Maybe he is finally getting used to it.
Fort Wilderness at Disney is very nice but very $$$. Very pet friendly. Here are some new friends I met during our visit.
At the doggie park.
This owl landed in front of us while taking a walk through the campground.
Lots of turkeys in Fort Wilderness
And lots of chalk art at the campsites.
My bank account is light after this trip but you only live once. Got to spend some time with my 1 1/2 year old great nephew and watch him have fun at the Magic Kingdom. At least Disney is not too far from me so I didn't use a lot of gas (about 250 mile round trip) but topping of the Motorhome tank is not going to be fun at $4.59 a gallon.
