We purchased a 2015 Jayco. In the bedroom there is marking on the wall to place a TV. However the bracket i saw at Best Buy would not mount properly as the screws are too long and would puncture the outside wall if inserted all the way into the wall.

Any suggestions? Jayco gave me the names of their supplier and I reached out to them, but in case that does not work, looking for suggestions from this group.

Thanks
Mike

Smaller screws *may be* the answer here, but also be aware that there are weight considerations in play, and those calculations take into account the screws that are holding the mounting bracket into the wall. Smaller screws can translate to less holding power.

The answer is to go to the hardware store and get the thickest diameter lag bolt that can fit through the hole in the mounting bracket - take it with you. Pick a length that wont go through the wall.

That is how I mounted mine.

Use smaller screws, but get a mount where you can easily lift off the television when traveling and simply hang it back up again when setting up camp. That's what we do and never had a problem.

You need to know what is in the wall. Some Fiberglas sided trailers use thin sheetmetal just behind the interior paneling and sheetmetal screws need to be used. If you have that type, the lag screws shown above will be destructive and worthless.

http://www.morryde.com/product-category/1-tv-mounts

I used a Morryde mount (TV1-025H) but mine was an interior wall. I used a sandwich type mounting (using both wall panels (thru bolting to the bedroom wall & bathroom wall) and fit the stock removable mount (TV1-051H) to it. "Strong like bull". I take the TV off the wall when travelling as Dutchman sport suggests.

Are you trying to mount on an exterior or interior wall, and what is the wall construction.

Use bolts and washers of the appropriate size to secure the tv mount to an additional piece of plywood.
Mount the additional piece of plywood onto the wall using screws and spacers between the back of the ply and the Jayco wall (in order to have room for the nuts on the bolts).

The bolts will be secure and will not rip out. The plywood will stay put because you'll be using a lot of screws with the spacers.
Just be sure you find the OEM plywood that Jayco installed. It may be close to the decal location but not really. Use a strap and buckle and run it across the front of the tv to help stabilize it to the wall .
