Will be at Fishing Bridge Yellowstone last week of July. Two kids 5 & 9 and of course DW. I haven't seen this topic previously, thought I would give it a try.

I have to look at all these folks looking for camping groups and wonder if they've checked into the easiest things first, like Good Sam chapters. Sure, they may have regulars that are mostly older folks, but those older folks might enjoy having kids around, or might have grandkids that they bring...and campgrounds are always full of kids. You can also bring school buddies.

Organizations like the FMCA has chapters, as do owner's associations, like the Winnebago Itasca Traveler's Club. RV dealers often know how to contact local groups, or ask at local campgrounds. It just sounds like a lot of people are trying to reinvent the wheel, when there are already lots of clubs around. I know some folks like to run things their way, I'm just saying maybe these are options that people haven't realized existed, or that may be easier.

And remember, if you're a Good Sam member, and don't think you're a good fit for the existing group...fix it! Start your own chapter.

Looking to start a family camping/rv group in the Houston/Sugarland area. Notice several people are looking in this area (including me). I have 2 sons age 6 & 10. Mainly like to have a group to get together for weekend trips - where the kids are able to get together with others (I guess I'm saying kid oriented destinations -- Jellystone/Beach ect. A good natured group who would like to get together, let the kids have fun, and maybe (us - not the kids) drink a few cold ones in the evening. Please PM me if interested. If we get enough interest maybe start a formal group - if not then maybe the ones interested could just get together whenever.
